• FANTASTIC NEWS FOR BUSINESSES - Spain edges up tourism index......

  SPAIN moved from eight to fourth in the world Economic forum tourism rankings. The report, which assesses the tourism factors and policies of 140 countries, ranked in the UK fifth, followed by the USA (Sixth). Tourism has remained relatively resistant despite the uncertain economic outlook, explained the reports authors, Jennifer Blanke and Thea Chiesa. This was evident in Spain, named as the top 10 country which had shown most improvement since 2011, they said. "It continues to lead in cultural resources, ranking first this year because of its numerous world heritage sites and large number of international exhibitions and fairs.. Spain's 'significant sports stadium capacity' was also singled out. There had been improvement in some areas, noted the report, which described starting a business as 'less costly and onerous'. Spain was also praised fr 'notably' maintaining it effort's on marketing and spending on the tourist industry 'amid difficult economic circumstances"
